How can it be fair? Those shares at 1.28 were never available to be bought. The people behind the bot have their computer terminal in the same building as the ASX and can withdraw those shares from sale before my order to buy them can be processed. Their intention in listing those shares for sale at 1.28 is to either trick buyers into paying more (e.g. an at-market buyer will end up paying more than they intended, as the shares they thought they were going to get at 1.28 disappear in a milli-second before their order is processed), or alternatively to trick someone who needs to sell into selling (no doubt to those behind the bot) at a price below 1.28. A fair, orderly and transparent market place is a myth when it comes to the ASX.
