CFD trading is bad news for buy, hold and hope type trading. Especially in a bear or uncertain market. You really have to be ahead of the game to win with these. I've done well out of CFD trading on IG and not by going short either. The leverage gives me deep pockets and this allows me to average down onto the bottoms. Even if I average down for 5 days the bounce day usually puts me well and truly into the black. IMO its all about picking the bottoms and the tops but getting in before that happens. A scanner or good chart package is what's needed to find candidates for a bounce.
