Sydney - Tuesday - Sep 27: (RWE Australian Business News) -
Citrofresh International Ltd (ASX code: CTF) shares rose more than
threefold to 70c this afternoon.
The wild buying rush was sparked by news the company reported
tests by Retroscreen Virology had found the Citrofresh organic
bioflavonoid compound was an effective virucidal agent that could target
HIV, Urbani SARS, Human Influenza A and Human Rhinovirus.
"This reinforces both Derm-e-San and Citrofresh generally as
world leading products in this market," directors said.
Trading in the shares opened today at 22.5c, but took off after
the late morning announcement, peaking at 70c for a 49c rise on the day.
After the peak the price settled at 56c as some traders took
profits.
More than 16 million of the 37 million issued shares changed
hands in four hours, making Citrofresh the busiest small-cap stock in
the market.
