I have held ASX since 2014, and been very happy with it. It is well managed, they are spending a fair bit on upgrading their technology and their business, is to say least boring. (Boring for the ASX is good).
I suspect that it is fully valued. Remember that if the stock market has a big correction, ASX, like most other stocks, will drop.
If you want to preserve capital and have a regular income, one option that you may want to consider (as this is not financial advise, just discussing options) think about the hybrids issued by the banks and insurance companies. They act a bit like a bond, are traded and are much better protected by market corrections.
