There seems to be a strong view on shorting stocks but what about indicies and futures? How do you hedge a big stock purchase if there is no instrument?
Do we get rid of put options, shorting futures and the like?
How would your super fund protect the billions invested on your behalf if they can't transfer the risk to those prepared to carry it?
This isn't a game of make the price go up. It's a game of "How much will you pay me to carry your risk?"
Those that were carrying enormous risk are now paying the bill. Those that have low risk haven't received a big bill at the end of the game.
I don't know about everyone else but I trade risk and get paid to carry it.
