Yeah ASX is definately dropping the ball, as is ASIC.
Pretty sad that nothing gets done to fix something until a catastrophe happens... you would have thought that BNB, AFG, MQG and many other stocks shorted to the hilt would have been enough.
I think a more likely way to stop the rot is for super funds to stop borrowing their stock. The shorting is decimating their returns more than the fees they are getting paid to borrow the stock. Would not be surprised to see some funds do what they have in the US and stop on borrowing the stock.
