I would assume he is shorting it because of its extreme valuation and currently there is relatively a lack of competition. With major manufacturers coming out saying they will be all electric in the coming years, it looks like their market share will get eaten away in a big way. So I see it being bad for Telsa, but not for the EV industry. But thats just my opinion.
