The shorters seem they have finally acknowledged that they are in serious trouble because they started buying back according to the data.
The charts by Shortman shows that the shorters were buying on Oct. 25 when the sp closed $1.97. They bought 3m shares back on that date.
The shorted shares was 75.9m on Oct.24 then it came down to 72.9m on Oct. 25. The difference is 3m shares.
Then they bought another 2.4m shares on Oc.t 26 when the sp went over $2.
It seems they want to cover their shorts as musc as possible before the sp goes over $2. I think $2 is their red line or short covering trigger point.
If so, and if the sp goes over $2 then we may see $2.5 very quickly because they would have to buy 70m shares back in a short time. We can't supply them so many shares. Sorry
And today when the sp closed at $1.92 at 4pm, it closed $1.935 at the end of the auction because there was a big demand in auction. Approx. 1.2m shares were sold in auction. Not sure if it was because of shorters or other investors.
LTR intraday chart tells the story as well.
