The price quoted is a spot sale. Most of PLS’s sales are under long term contract at prices less than that. But still even prices at $1000 to $2000 per tonne vastly improve DFS of companies.
Whilst I don’t share your price prediction, yes shortfall in other commodities essential to EVs and renewable battery are a concern. If not addressed they will impact lithium demand with consequent impacts on prices as new lithium supply comes on stream. The key ones are graphite, copper and rare earths. But I do expect them been addressed so issue on SP in the now is really a short term issue unless sentiment to climate change and EVs drastically changes. That is economics will always align supply to demand conditions but can have blips. At the end of the day demand is growing so some of the SP drops across the entire ASX is around fearmonger arising from inflation, interest rates and US and Chinese growth.

Still going to need a hell of a lot of new lithium mines to meet demand.

    All IMO IMO

For others if want more info on what goes into EVs and shortages there refer
