If true, that they plan 5 years ahead. How come 6 months ago they bid 6.6 Bil to buy LTR and today sell 4% and walk away? If anything to me this is very shortsighted, it's a 6 months window from a company valued at 6.6B and now accordingly to ALB $1.26 a share (you do the maths on the current MC)
If they had this business insight and able to look 5 years ahead, did they not think the lithium price would eventually come off its peak to a more normal price and that at 8K a tonne wasn't sustainable? It did it in 2019 and ALB has been around long enough to see the ups and downs in the Lithium industry. Have they not learnt how commodity cycles work?
If they don't now see value in LTR business (higher than 1.26) how would they see value in their own company? I think this is more a ALB issue than LTR's.
For the last year lithium has been coming down in price, you'd think with all their insights they'd wait until the price is down to lob a bid? wouldn't you?
Just my 2cents.
