While a lot of what you post is true I think the more likely reasons are as follows:
1. Stregthen balance sheet
2. Bid for cheaper assets.
If ALB couldnt buy LTR at $3 there is little sense leaving the capital here when they have been vocal about acquring other assets in other juristictions. I wouldnt necessairly take it as ALB think the sector is dead. Plenty of quality assets now trading far far cheaper than LTR at $3 or even $2.
