Those beliefs are not contradictionary.
EVs, Lithium are the future. EVs are now mostly luxury brands like Teslas. BEVs need to become cheaper to make them achievable for the masses. The most expensive part of a BEV is the battery. Therefore the batteries need to become cheaper. And that means that Lithium prices and thus Lithhium stocks need to go down in price.
