Surely it's EV purchasers who should be feeling penalised, not ICE owners at this point? Regardless of any small subsidies some governments might offer to just a few EV purchasers whose vehicle choice and cost price qualifies, it's those EV purchasers who suffer from emptier pockets after their far larger initial outlay? And this looks like continuing until manufacturers retool, the scales tip and EV take-up becomes the norm with EV prices dropping to the ICE level. It's not unlike paying our income tax - nobody likes being forced to do it, but if the country is to run efficiently and effectively as it can, people just have to be forced to pay.

One could argue that it's EV owners, not the ICE drivers, who are also the ones currently being heavily penalised by the slow rollout of recharging infrastructure, and which governments have largely left to private enterprise to resolve at snails pace. I wonder what ICE owners will be saying when the majority of our many gas stations either close altogether or convert largely to recharging and other retail services? Maybe they will be be forced by governments to continue operating for the benefit of remaining ICE fans?
It's all a bit like this ongoing Australia Day date dilemma, but sooner or later it will have to be our government who will have to make a decision and force the issue, or maybe leave it to Woolies and private enterprises as seems to be the situation so far?
