People and businesses will adapt where possible and if it is in their interest.
If you can charge your car while shopping why wouldn't you? You only fill up at a petrol station because that's the only place you can.
Imagine having access to charging posts attached to car park pillars in a shopping centre or parking station.
The amount of money we spend subsidising fossil fuels for a year would pay for the rollout of more charging stations.
The only thing is that they will need to be in reasonably secure areas to avoid vandalism by luddites. I don't think we're going to be seeing them as stand alone charges in remote areas for a long time.
