No one is going to buy in the current climate until at least it is de-risked. Not for a company that is $2.8B which requires an industry player. Gina does not need a controlling stake, easier for her to leave it to existing capable management to get it going than taking it on herself.
Even ALB found a lot of operational challenges in Australia, that they had to bring in Chinese engineers.
Any interested buyer have a lot of time to see how the industry developments unfold over the coming months....an acquisition that some market participants hope for may not be one the long termers would be happy with, as since they couldn't part with $3-3.20, they wouldn't for anything less. If they have a choice, that is.
