The bid/ask spread gives a pretty good indication that the action this morning is the MM keeping control of the price. There's very little volume at the transaction line, with the decent volumes stacked on both the bid & ask at a few cents away (respectively).
The MM had to allow for the expected early morning sell off following the Wall Street lead but it would appear they are trying to limit the downside movement. At the same time, they are not encouraging a flood of buying. Just a gentle stream of nibbles taking place.
This should pick up in volume as the day progresses, with action expected to intensify before the close of trading.
Don't forget there is a long weekend in the US (Memorial Day) which means we won't get any real leads until the start of Tuesday trading.
