I agree that EV's are here to stay. Not doubting that... It's just that the uptake will not be at the rate that most people first expected.
ICE vehicles are more expensive to maintain and that is well documented. But let's take a look at resale values. An EV is a white good. After 10 years buyers willing to pay good money for a mainstream car will be limited. No one wants to take the risk of buying a car with the need to replace the battery that could cost in the range of $10,000-$15,000.
There is a reason why an OEM is only offering an 8 year warranty on the High Voltage Battery. The State of health reduces dramatically and will effect range significantly.
