Lack of cheap power, transport & water for projects is a factor in Australia.

Other governments provide power at 5c a kWh (Canada). LTR have had to build their own power plant (with Zenith). They've built their own bore fields too.

The government could use taxes to build more infrastructure like rail also to reduce transport costs.

There used to be a rail line from Geraldton via Mullewa and Meekatharra to Wiluna, most
of the way to Katheleen Valley. Not maintained.

When we have the opportunity to launch nation building projects during downturns, pandemics etc. it seems our politicians distract each other and burn cash on stuff that doesn't provide. a tangible benefit. Nothing is shovel ready. Red tape? Lack of vision and leadership too.

It is also true that our governments are in debt while the Palmers, Forrests, Stokes and Rineharts together have tens of billions of cash.
