There was also "absolutely no reason left to short LTR" when the share price was at $3. Holders were adamant there was going to be a flood of offers to counter ALB's bid, which would see it skyrocket to $5 and beyond. How'd that go?
Obviously as the share price goes lower there is more risk to shorting. However, the thesis for shorting LTR remains. The company is still valued at $1.5b and isn't profitable and still wouldn't be profitable even in a best-case scenario once everything is up and fully running given the current price of spod. That's not really a company you want to be burdened by.
