As far as tides go, there was a set of big ones
where I live very recently and they came with a massive relentless swell that ate my lovely beach and bit into the dunes, and took out 30 year old trees that lined the bike path near one end .
And now the old ways and walks are gone ‘forever’.

Sometimes a big tide doesn’t do what you expect.
