OT just for a moment i hope where you live recovers and can rebuild / regrow, all the best no-one likes to see that happen, our coastline is a wonderful place we have all read about the big swell damage recently recently caused in Qld, NSW and SA due in part to a number of factors (not necessarily tidal, imo) - storm swells, cyclones (ie alfred most recently), rising sea levels leading to coastal erosion, etc i have also recently read about places like Lancelin in WA (already suffering quite severe erosion) and Inverloch in Vic (in potential danger) where towns are at risk
