First: I imagine she takes advice around her financial decisions from staff way more skilled and knowledgeable about her financial picture than me or anyone other random HC punter.
Second:with a 19% holding or whatever acquired over many weeks (?) I think she is unlikely to want to let go of any significant amount in just a few days before EOFY - even if she wanted to book a loss
But for her, overall, I guess that ‘strategy’ applies to her as much as anyone who would benefit from booking a loss now, or thinks a carried forward loss may be of benefit in future years .
My accountant told me to sell out of Gascoyne Resources several years ago and buy the shares back in a different - more tax effective - portfolio .
I did and was disappointed when the price dropped even lower .
That company was renamed Spartan Resources .
