True, but if someone were trying to save a bit, or scrambling to get their SMSF account in order (doesn't happen overnight), for participation, then August/September may be cutting it a tad fine.
Others sitting on the entry sidelines (for whatever (*)reasons - beyond me), may wake up one morning to an announcement that precludes them from SpinCo by virtue of hesitation and being out of the holding loop. Oops.
Remember, the amount of LTR shares at the time of SpinCo qualification (**)date determines the allocation of SpinCo, so it pays to be in it BIG TIME, not to mention then CGT discount.
* trust me, I have heard it said, "I'm just going to wait and see how it goes...", for individuals and there may be corporations that have entry price point guidelines or other restraints.
** nominated by the board and/or ASX - not sure of the regulation protocol.
