Lol that would have to be one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Shorters don't manipulate markets, they're just betting against you which you obviously don't like. Shorting is a valid strategy that if anything, is far riskier than going long. Insider trading is obviously illegal for good reason, as it involves trading on information that other people don't yet have. There is a world of difference between them...
