You are correct and the more they are seen, the more acceptable (popular) they become, with less buyer resistance.
However, it's advances in technology bringing battery price down that is critical, not the vehicle in and of itself.
From memory, the power pack presently makes up approximately thirty-seven (37%) percent of the vehicle price, dropping to twenty (20%) percent by 2030.
