re: rumour denied Agree, the wording of the response is so precise it virtually confirms they have been "sounded out" about the possibility of a MBO/takeover.
An MBO for all intents and purposes cannot just arrive on the Board's desk without any prior warning.
An informal "sounding out" will ensure that any MBO/takeover is structured so as to assure the prospective buyer the bid has Board support.
