Yes all taken over, or at least lost control, eg NZO&CUE. All arguably taken over as failures. CVN is not at this stage a failure.
Yes the odds on CVN lasting another couple of decades is low, but historical record isn’t against it lasting another 5 years or a decade by which stage is can be worth a hell of a lot more and by which time investors can better judge whether it’s management merits independence. There’s a time to fold and a time to fold.
In ten or twenty years investors may well be folding on the whole oil and gas sector, may be even earlier for oil.
