Pretty sure that a stock can't enter the ASX300 without entering the All-Ords first? The All-Ords only gets revised in March (other than deletions). The ASX300 gets revised six-monthly.
Was possibly a close run thing for BLT this month, given the market cap going into beginning of Feb, but perhaps missed out due to not having maintained market cap and liquidity for long enough? The selections are based on prior 6 months of trading.
May even explain some of the volatility, since it often appears index changes are pre-emptively bought/sold and perhaps some were caught out thinking BLT might go in (as I did)?
