The rules on asylum were written around 1945. These were aimed at Europeans who had experienced a life under the Judaeo-Christian sense of decency, in spite of the war.
It is time to tear up this document as it is totally inappropriate for today's asylum seekers.
Those trying to escape their failed states today can be sent to any number of African nations. The West has the ability to take over these failed states and allow them to absorb the hundreds of millions of "asylum seekers".
Remember that African is on an uncontrolled population explosion with the population heading for 4 billion by 2100. Africa can't handle its 1 billion now so we may very well see 3 billion asylum seekers in 2100.
