    You could be right, and it could be that there was nothing that could have been done to help this man.

    Based on the track record of other incidents though (such as the situation in which Reza Barati was murdered) it has turned out that there was, in fact, a major failing of care.

    Dr Peter Young has pointed out some major systemic problems with the way medical care is given, and the fact that guards act as buffers between the asylum seekers and doctors. He pointed this out under his physicians duty to prevent harm.

    It is looking very much like we have a system that has ingrained brutality. I don't care which side of politics started it but it should stop IMO.
