    so how does the department go about determining who is a genuine asylum seeker - surely, they do not just rely on the story from the boatie - indeed, one would think that the department would make inquiries in their home countries - which would reveal who they are.

    somewhere, some link the other day, mentioned that about 70% of boaties were being refused asylum by the refugee tribunal - that was the first test - then it is up to review etc etc.... from memory, a review cost $1500

    people like berati should never have been tempted in the first place, to make their way to australia - but like moths to light, they could see how easy it was to get into australia - so the social refugee berati took his chances, and denied (mmm - not anymore) somebody from a refugee camp the chance -.

    and how many people actually saw the list??? - in the end, it will be a non event
