Yes... future FCF is the key determinent. Nevertheless, this company produces an incredible 27million tons of very high quality coking and thermal coal per annum... and its margins are the smallest in years. I can't fathom why WHC hide the size of the massive govt royalties they pay. Instead they should be making a noise and drawing attention to the risk mines like this are facing. QLD govt budget is stuffed without coal. Yet it's hip to give coal mines a bad wrap.
SP now $5.55... a price last seen in July'22 some 26 months ago!! Who would have thought? I cannot forecast how low the SP will go... and when it will turn north. Nobody can. Perhaps when super funds finally complete their exit from the fossil fuel industry. Fact is IOP remains very weak and china's steel production is falling sharply. I have a chart and will attempt a C&P. Yes, China only buys about 10% of WHC's coal but it is by far the world's largest steel producer and is a barometer for entire industry.
Is anyone buying at this prices... or are readers sitting on their hands and waiting?
