We as simple techs were VERY keen to drill. But Canberra had only "just completed financing Australia's share of the War in the Pacific", and Canberra claimed to be BROKE. "Sorry no drilling funds unless we need uranium for defence."
I know this sounds very out of date--it is, but it was important at that time. Conix
