Maybe you are not aware that the current Mauritanian government is not the same Mauritanian government that signed the PSCs. There was a coup last year, hence the new government may have reason to question some of the terms of the contracts if they feel that the terms were unfairly biased towards WPL or if they think there was corruption involved.
This is completely reasonable on their part and I do not doubt that there will be a negotiated settlement to the issues. Both the government of Mauritania and Woodside have a lot to lose long term is they don't come to an equitable solution.
