    Ok, I take your point, however of the documented cases (there have been several) of Australians captured and held by the Taliban they have told of being well treated well - although they were non combatants. As to the incidents of Afghans (ethnicity unknown) turning on their Oz trainers, it may have been caused by a breach in the honour code by the trainer, which is uppermost in the culture if the perpetrator was a Pashtun, or the perpetrator was a Taliban infiltrator, which is a common war/battle tactic and not what I would call an atrocity, and not perpetrated on a civilian.

    Don't misunderstand me, I have no soft spot for the Taliban, but there are always complexities weaving into the perceived reality. .
