Shorters are taking a risk - in fact, I'd argue that they're taking a bigger risk than people like you and I who have bought into the share. All that you and I stand to lose is the money we've put into the stock. They stand to lose (in theory) an infinite amount of money, if the share price rockets upward.
So if they want to short, let 'em. The share price will come back to the level of the company's value in due course (hopefully sooner rather than later; it'd be nice to see them get burnt.)
I'm a bit miffed - topped up today at 3.09. My instinct was to go for 3.05; I should have done that. Oh well. It's not that much money for the number of shares I bought.
