bhp on a monthly chart is an education...
the period where it trended down from 32 to 24 is a flag to my eye... and sure enough when it broke out of the down trend it rocketed up to the technical target.
the last six months look like a scrambled eggs pattern to me though... caveat emptor. I'll probably buy at 32 this week but only as a trade... for buy and hold I'll need to see it at 16. harsh according to some but that's my view. if I was already holding and couldn't bring myself to realise a loss I'd be looking at using the equity for a margin loan or some other kind of leverage when/if prices do get to that level... Late April/early May is looking pretty rough imo although I think 16 will be a year or two from now and 24 might do it for the intermediate term.
