As I understand it, Hospitals need to show evidence they do all they can to detect a pregnancy to protect from damage to early pregnancies before operations in emergency settings. Even if a blood test costs a fair bit more than a urine test, there is a good chance these rapid blood tests will be the norm in many emergency rooms.
Emergency rooms are all about maximum efficiency. Every step adds to the load of the teams. Atomo designs the devices to be as efficient as possible. For example, you could operate a pascal device one handed if you had to. It's no accident that NG Biotech supplies Atomo pregnancy tests to the French military. Look at the footage of the Ukraine war emergency rooms. Imagine being in a combat emergency room and trying find the lancet, to find the well and put drops of blood into a device. You only need to look at the amazon reviews for current blood tests to see they are not that easy to use, even for regular people. There is a very good chance Atomo's design will become gold standard rapid blood collection in emergency care.
