funny how the only people who can see a "miserable" angle in all this are the christians.
i suspect they might have lead seriously miserable lives before finding their inner voice, or "jesus", and therefore ascribe their own personal misery to the experience of a life devoid of higher purpose, which through their own naivety they then correlate to "atheism".
it's a bit like when people read "the secret" or go to india for the first time, and discover a fuller bandwidth of spirituality, they start to look down on people from their own spiritual upbringing, oblivious to the fact that they are surrounded by people who may have found the wider bandwidth all of their own accord.
in my experience they are also often very militant in their beliefs.
