Just received an email from a mate working over in the Samsung ship yard and he wanted to share these pics with you, So these are not mine.
I was Amazed at the actual size of the PRELUDE  is F(*&%KN HUGE.

So..... Ive just been to a meeting with the Ocean Rig project manager for discussions re the current build ....Ocean rig "Santorini".....nice guy ....an interesting morning...
Anyway, found a couple of models of ....believe it or not "Athena " with is doing the appraisal drilling in Senegal for FAR/ Cairn / Conoco Phillips joint venture that we have a few shares in. I worked on this rig during its construction.

Also a model of the Shell Prelude FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) which is what they use once an offshore oil field is developed and producing....This unit receives the oil from underground offshore, processes and loads to bulk tankers. Prelude is the largest of type in the world and being built here at Samsung in Korea......heading for Australia of the north west shelf when completed I believe.

Terrific models in anyone's eyes...
