As promised, attached was my issue with the reserves - if you compare June 2018 (which includes Atlas) to September 2017 (which includes Atlas), it shows:
208.1 mmboe loss of 2c resources
4.8 mmboe increase in 2P reserves, and 3.5 mmboe increase in 1P reserves
SXY have 1P and 2P reserves of 133mmboe as at June 2018, but lost 208.1 mmboe of 2C reserves.
How much of the 133mmboe reserves is just a transfer from the 208.1mmboe 2C resources....
Is it normal for 208.1 mmboe of 2C resources to vanish?
Or.... did the 208.1 mmboe contribute 50mmboe (hypothetically) of the 1P/2P reserves-
this would mean 1P/2P reserves are 83mmboe (to compare against last year's reserves 125mmboe 1P/2P reserves), which would then show a decline in reserves year on year.
I cannot prove (nor disprove) the above, as we simply do not know how many 2C resources from 2017 were converted and included in the calculation of 1P/2P reserves in 2018.
When you look at all these facts together, and try and separate any emotional attachment it made me very nervous...
