myopic - I wouldn't be too sure about Barnett not taking the berth development away from NWIO.
Barnett was made to look like a total banana over Crosslands, Murchison, and the failed Oakgee development. That fell over in 2012 and caused him much embarrassment leading into 2013 State election. The next WA State election is in 2017 and I reckon if NWIO haven't got something concrete sorted out (financed and started earth moving) by end of 2014 it will go to someone else because Barnett will want to point at progress. NWIO's website states "The WA State Government has made this 50 Mtpa allocation to support the development plans of emerging iron ore miners in the Pilbara region".
