Lost, Banks know a thing or two about risk, and (generally ) can price it better than many other commercial organisations. Prior to the boom, transport was a very low margin business, with heaps of operators that would cut each others throats and overcapitalise ( as in equipment ) their businesses, funded by debt ( which would largely be finance company HP type funding ) .
What we are seeing now is the market returning to pre boom business as usual levels - and it aint pretty for many. Suggest if you don't understand this business ( or any other business ) , stay away from it.
