I am confused with this proposal of Super Profits Tax on mining sector.
According to official tax statistics from ATO ,the gross profit ratio in 2007-08 in mining sector was 0.62,lower than healthcare, agriculture, forestry, fishing (0.75),rental hiring, and real estate services (0.7), educating and training(0.77)(please page 6,18/may/2010,Financial Review)So, where come the super profits??? 2007-08 was not far!
Is there any tricks in all of these?
I borrowed to invest because mining sectors were believed to be blue chips stocks.
I am Australian!! Does government support Australian investors?
