Presumably the withdrawn lots were very small in total, so didn’t really affect the total number of pearls sold - but may have reduced proceeds rather more so given two withdrawals at least were amongst the higher-quality lots on page 1.
The trading halt is sensible, hopefully it will be repeated in future every time there is an auction! So need to buy ahead of the auction close.
