One can only speculate why a simple one liner couldn't be announced - "proceeds realized for the Nov auction were USD10m compared to USDxm for the same auction last year". Looks like they will do a calculation of forecast profit for the first half etc which could take some more time.

Or they might have hurt their backs carrying the saddle bags of USD back to Australia (or had too much celebratory sake in Japan and are now incapable of doing anything until next week....).

I would also note that on current expectations of revenue (or at least mine) they will use up all their tax losses this year which will mean that while they might have the cash on hand at the end of the year (31 Dec or 30 June) it actually belongs to the tax man.....

And there is a not zero percentage chance (but pretty close to it) that the figures on the webpage were bogus and auction sales were down......

Unfortunate that we will probably need to wait until next week to find out.

Bit like a five year old boy on Christmas eve.....
