Interesting seeing white pearls from Myanmar! Naturally Pinctada maxima oysters from Myanmar would have have a higher % of yellow/gold colour oysters compared to say Broome with a higher % of white/silver. Indonesia lies in the middle, where there is a fairly even distribution of both yellow and white oysters hence Indonesia and Australia producing the vast majority of the worlds white pearls.
White pearls are easier to produce than gold pearls therefore Myanmar could well produce more volume in the future.
Regarding auction results, obviously demand has dropped if lots were withdrawn. China also has a 50% import tax on South Sea Pearls which is not helping.
