Re the perforation of 20mtrs vs 100mtrs, I dont know the specifics however a few points to ponder:
    - SS10 is tapping the same reservoir as the other Songo holes.
    - a casing only has a certain capacity at a certain pressure (pressure limits apply to these systems). More perforation need not mean greater production.
    - As we have discovered a new field, more holes will need to be drilled.

The interesting thing to watch from here is where in the block they decide to drill. There are some high reward Oil and Gas plays that could prove very exciting.
Aminex are very keen to be the first to find oil here; they will get terrific support from the market so now is as good a time as any.
They also need to keep as much of the block intact, so more work means more block.

Consumption in Tz is keeping all on their toes, Songo gas is all accounted for and looks like future supply is too...

Orca Exploration announces suspension of the SS-10 well pending rig repairs

Tortola, British Virgin Islands Orca Exploration Group Inc (“Orca Exploration”) has suspended operations on the SS-10 development well due to equipment problems with the rig that have impeded drilling progress.

The well has been drilled to a measured depth of 1,689 meters and will now be secured at a depth of 1,074 meters while rig repairs are carried out. The drilling has shown the subsurface geology to be as expected.

The drilling of the well will resume as soon as the repairs are completed and the other drilling contractors are remobilised. The delay has no impact on Orca’s ongoing operations in Tanzania and the expected production from the SS-10 well is not required before mid 2008."
