Not sure i entirely follow re more perforation need not mean greater production.
In my opinion, the KN trap would need to posses significantly higher pressure than Songo Songo in order for a 20 metre perforation in KN-1 to flow anywhere near the same rate as a 100 metre perforation as in SS-10.
In my option, the length of perforation does influence the flow rate if you consider it increases the number of points in which gas can escape from the trap. The second influence is the pressure, determining the speed in which gas escapes via the perforated section.
On to other matters, for those who are interested, have a read of the information on the Orca Exploration website regarding the concept of "Protected Gas" and "Additional Gas". This should shed some light on the fact that Orca only sold 26.3mmscf/d out of the 200 mmscf/d expected deliverability of the six Songo Songo wells in Q3-2007.
