Did you open an acccount directly with them or through Commsec? Could you please clarify?
I filled out the forms, Commsec sent them into the ether, and the end result is I had an account with Pershing - you would have to create a login identity as one has to do with say, Link Market Services. With Link, an account is created when you purchase a share that is registered with them, but you still have to create a login identity before you can access the account.
In another case, I ended up with shares where the custodian was AST Financial. I simply logged into AST and requested the shares be transferred to Pershing.
